Privacy Policy

Sonum Browser (“Sonum”) is a web browser for iPhone, built by Acromia Micro Systems Pvt Ltd (“Acromia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
The short version: Sonum doesn’t collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no Acromia servers. What you browse stays on your iPhone.
A browser necessarily talks to the websites you visit. This policy explains exactly what leaves your device, when, and why.
1. Information We Collect
None. Acromia operates no servers for Sonum and receives no information about you or your browsing. Sonum contains no third-party SDKs, analytics, advertising networks, or tracking of any kind.
2. What Stays on Your iPhone
Your history, bookmarks, open and archived tabs, downloads, website data (cookies, caches, site storage), saved site permissions and settings are stored only on your device. Your iPhone’s own backup (such as iCloud Backup) may include this data; that is managed by you in iOS Settings, not by us.
Summarize Page and Browse for Me run on your device using Apple Intelligence. Page text is processed on the iPhone and is never sent to Acromia or any AI service. Translate Page uses Apple’s on-device Translation framework.
3. What Is Sent to Others as You Browse
- Websites you visit receive what any browser sends them (for example your IP address and the pages you request). Their own privacy policies apply to them.
- Search suggestions. With Search Suggestions on, the text you type in the address bar is sent to the search engine you chose in Settings (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo or Brave) to fetch suggestions. Suggestions are never requested from private tabs, and you can turn them off in Settings.
- Browse for Me sends your query to DuckDuckGo and opens the top results in a private, cookie-less view to read them.
- Ad and tracker blocking. About once a week Sonum downloads public filter lists from the EasyList project (easylist.to, and a GitHub-hosted copy of its cookie-notice list). These downloads contain no information about you or your browsing.
- Site icons. Sonum fetches a site’s icon from that site when you visit it, to show it in tabs and history.
4. Private Tabs
Private tabs keep cookies and website data in memory only, record no history, never request search suggestions, and are closed when Sonum quits. You can require Face ID to view them (Settings → Lock Private Tabs); Face ID is handled entirely by iOS and Sonum never receives your biometric data.
5. Permissions
Sonum asks for the camera, microphone, or your location only when a website you are using requests them (for example for a video call or a map), and you decide each time or per site. Photo Library access is add-only, used when you choose to save an image. Sonum never uses these on its own.
6. Diagnostics
Sonum receives Apple’s standard crash and performance reports (MetricKit) and keeps them on your device. They are never uploaded automatically. You can choose to share them with us from Settings → About → Share Diagnostics; they contain technical data about app performance, not your browsing.
7. Sharing and Selling
We don’t share or sell your information, because we don’t have it.
8. Children’s Privacy
Sonum collects no data from anyone, including children. As a web browser it can reach any website, so parents may want to use iOS Screen Time content restrictions.
9. Your Control Over Your Data
Settings → Clear History and Website Data removes history and website data for the last hour, today, the last two days, or all time. Clearing all history also closes your tabs and removes saved snapshots and site icons. Deleting Sonum removes everything it stored.
10. Changes to This Policy
If a future version changes how data is handled, we will update this policy first, describe the change clearly, and update the “Last updated” date above before that version ships.
